The report, commissioned by The Football Association and involving all member EFL and Premier League clubs, investigates non-recent allegations of child sex abuse in football.

Contained within the report is reference to a former Norwich City youth coach, Michael Carson, who worked for the club for a period from 1983.

Throughout the review the football club have fully cooperated in the investigation, providing information on Carson’s employment with the club.

The report acknowledges that the club’s retrospective internal investigation into the allegations against Carson met the adequacy standards.

Some 20 years on the club operates with clear, robust and structured safeguarding protocols, while being subject to an annual audit process by the relevant league.

The recommendations made in the Sheldon report will now be assessed against current club processes and monitored through the club’s existing safeguarding governance framework.

The club acknowledges how difficult reading the Sheldon report may be, particularly for the survivors and those close to them. The thoughts of all at Norwich City are very much with everyone affected by the actions of those identified in the report.
