Match Preview: Norwich City v Nottingham Forest

Norwich City face Nottingham Forest at Carrow Road in the Sky Bet Championship on Wednesday (7.45pm KO).

Our Match Preview assesses Forest’s season so far, looks at the officials in charge of the game, and provides information on how supporters can follow the action live.

The opposition

After just missing out on the play-offs at the end of last season, it’s been a disappointing start to 2020/21 for Nottingham Forest.

The club began the season with Sabri Lamouchi at the helm and lost their opening four league fixtures.

Chris Hughton was then appointed to take charge and Forest went four unbeaten with one win and three draws.

However, following defeat to Middlesbrough and wins against Coventry City and Wycombe Wanderers, Forest have managed just one point from the last 15 available.

That form puts them 20th in the Championship, most recently falling to a 2-0 defeat at Reading.

There have been 73 meetings between City and Forest since 1915, resulting in 27 wins, 28 defeats and 18 draws for Norwich.

Last time we met, City came from 3-0 down in the 76th minute to draw 3-3, with two goals scored in stoppage time! It was truly an unforgettable night at Carrow Road.

Ref watch

Darren Bond has been appointed to oversee proceedings on Wednesday night, Nick Greenhalgh and George Byrne his assistants and Graham Kane the fourth official.

Bond’s previous visit to Carrow Road came in January 2019, when City lost 1-0 to Portsmouth in the FA Cup and Grant Hanley was sent off.
