Armed Forces Community
“SUPPORTING THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED US”
Norwich City have a long history of celebrating the Armed Forces Community.
We recognise the sacrifice made by all those who have participated in the defence of the United Kingdom and supported peacekeeping duties or humanitarian operations.
We work closely with our armed forces supporter group Forces2 Canaries with further information available on their work and how to join here.
We remember the fallen each season with a parade at our designated Remembrance fixture and also celebrate Armed Forces Day.
The Club are proud to have achieved the silver award within the Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) which acknowledges employers that provide exceptional support to the Armed Forces community and Defence by going above and beyond their Covenant pledges. As an armed forces friendly employer, we recognise the skills the armed forces community; serving personnel, both regular and reservists; veterans; spouses; partners; and military families can bring, and we actively support reservists with an extended training leave entitlement.
In June 2025 we launched our Armed Forces & Veterans membership scheme to provide additional flexibility to those adversely effected by the service.
On the second Monday of every month the Club collaborate with the Bridge for Heroes charity and provide a walk in wellbeing service for any member of the Armed Forces Community. We proudly partner the City of Norwich Army Cadet Troop who have provided opportunities for young people since 1911.

We are committed to the Armed Forces Covenant and have made a promise that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, including the bereaved, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy, and society they serve with their lives.
The Covenant principles are that, recognising the unique obligations of, and sacrifices made by, the Armed Forces:
- Those who serve in the Armed Forces, whether Regular or Reserve, those who have served in the past, and their families, should face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services.
- Special consideration is appropriate in some cases, especially for those who have given most such as the injured and the bereaved.
